1900 Steps

(2014)

1900 Steps uses a GPS device to record and 'draw' the pathways from home to studio.  These drawings become a trace of a journey and an inconspicuous record of the surrounding environmental systems of house, road, and movement possibility.

The packing crates also become a part of the work, where they enable the sculptures to create journeys of their own - the journey of a journey. Ultimately, the work questions the lived experience, where surrounding environment and individuals intersect and influence one another.
